These Cosplay Girls Take the Craft to A Whole New Level
So, I’m going to start off by saying that this article is not about ogling cosplay girls for wearing tiny outfits. It’s also not an article that’s trying to prove who the best or most talented cosplayer out there. After all, I am sure that there are plenty of cosplayers out there that may never get the publicity that their talent deserves. There may few of the entries on this list are not very popular with a lot of members in the cosplay community. Love them or hate them though, there’s no arguing that these women have talent (even if it just comes down to branding and social media presence). This article is about the 10 Most Popular Cosplay Girls on Instagram. I’m going by the numbers on this one (Instagram is a big place though, so let me know if I missed anyone). But I’m sure I’ll have a few colorful comments to add too.
I’ve been following Stella Chuu casually on Instagram for a couple of months now, and I have to say that I don’t think she sleeps. It’s easy to see that she loves making new outfits and doing some “special” photo shoots for her fans. Best of all, she’s not one of those cosplay girls who only posts skimpy outfits and gets by on her looks alone. Her cosplays are detail oriented and run the spectrum from gaming to anime to comics. Stella is definitely a someone you’ll want to follow for inspiration.
SuperMaryFace has been out of the cosplay game for just over 9 months now and I’ll give you three guesses as to why. Before that, she was one of those rare cosplay girls that posted as much about her everyday life as she posted her newest costumes. There’s no denying her talent when it comes to cosplay, but she made it easy to be a fan of hers not just her costumes. If you follow her on Instagram you’re more likely to get fun goofy faces than seductive poses. Which I’m definitely not complaining about
Myrtle posts beautiful pictures on her Instagram. She presents herself in the best possible light she can, which isn’t a bad thing at all. However, at a certain point, it starts to feel like her Instagram is staged. Don’t get me wrong Myrtle has her branding down pat. When it comes to cosplay girls though, I personally like to see the work and life behind the pretty pictures. Give me a selfie at 3 AM taken with bandaged fingers after a long night of putting the finishing touches on a costume. That’s what will get me to root for you.
Also known as Linda Le, this is a cosplayer that is a hardcore fangirl. She not only posts pictures of the awesome costumes that she wears to conventions but also shares “civilian” pics and just cool geeky stuff she finds along the way. There’s no arguing that all the cosplay girls on this list are drop dead gorgeous, but Linda Le lets her personality do the talking. There are plenty of glamour shots on her Instagram, but a lot of her costume pics are just selfies of her having fun at cons.
A lot of cosplay girls also stream on Twitch, but Lindsay Elyse seems like she is a pretty enthusiastic gamer. One thing that will strike you about her page is that there aren’t a lot of posed con pics on there. Most of it shows off completed work on some of her costumes or her just having fun gaming. She is definitely a gamer girl first and foremost and her love for gaming is most likely the drive behind her cosplay, which makes her a legit geek in my book. If you’re a gamer, this is one cosplayer you’re going to want to be sure to follow.
While she might not be number one on this list, Yaya is pretty much the face of cosplay. Her costumes are epic, she is paid to go to cons to be a judge, she even has her own line of cosplay products. She is easily the most successful of all the cosplay girls out there and a true entrepreneur. I met her once briefly and she seemed pretty down to earth for someone who is such a big deal in the convention community. If you’re into cosplay at all you definitely need to follow, but then again you probably already are.
The first thing it says in Holly Wolf’s profile is that she is a Playboy playmate, which might explain why she edged out Yaya Han in followers. She definitely uses sex appeal to her advantage, but her costumes are truly legit. There’s a lot of attention to detail, but then again some of them are so small that there aren’t a lot of details that need attention. Holly is a talented cosplayer, who embraces what a lot of fans want to see. No one can fault her for that, especially because she’s doing what she really loves to do, and that’s what’s important.
Now, this is exactly how a cosplay girls profile should look. Alodia’s Instagram is one that’s filled with adventure and fun. It’s more of a photo journal than a promotional page. She’s based out of the Philippines and seems to primarily vlogger on youtube. Her actual cosplays don’t play a big part in her Instagram, but the few that are on there look like they had a lot of hard work and dedication in them. Alodia is someone you want to follow if you want a true behind the scenes look at the life of a cosplayer.
It’s absolutely crazy to me how popular Anna Faith Carlson is, considering her profile states she is 21. Then again, after checking out her Instagram it’s easy to see why so many people flock to her. Most of her photos are from the gym or her modeling career, but she does share a lot of the work that goes into her cosplays. I wish there were more pictures from the cosplay aspect of her life (that’s what this list is for after all), but the cosplays she does post are incredible. Especially her recent Wonder Woman costume.
Remember when I mentioned that there might be some controversy when it comes to this list? Well, here it is. There is absolutely no arguing that any other cosplayer comes close to Jessica Nigri in terms of Instagram popularity. She’s a professional cosplay known for her sexy costumes and sultry photos, which a lot of cosplayers seem to have a negative view of. However, glancing over her Instagram, it looks like she genuinely just has a lot of fun doing what she does. I guess that makes her not only popular but successful in a lot of ways as well.
There you have it. The most popular cosplay girls on Instagram. I’m sure that a lot of people will have things to say about this article. Cosplayers are really passionate people after all (something I love and admire about them). So, be sure to leave some comments with your thoughts. Tell me what you liked, didn’t like, and who I might have missed.
